3 Unique Places to Visit in Los Angeles County, California

Actualizado: 21 oct

There are plenty of fun things to do in Los Angeles County like visiting a theme park, taking a guided tour of the Hollywood Sign, and shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Unless you are a resident of that area or live on the West Coast, there is not enough time to check out all the wonderful places.

However, here are three unique places to visit in Los Angeles that may not immediately pop up on your Google Search for "Things to do in Los Angeles" as they are lesser-known gems worth adding to your to-do list!

Point Dume

Address: Cliffside Dr &, Birdview Ave, Malibu, CA 90265
Hours: Sunrise to Sunset
Parking: Parking lot nearby with fees

Point Dume is a beautiful, picturesque promontory on the coast of Malibu, California with the best views of the Pacific Ocean. You may recognize Point Dume from its appearances on television shows and in movies like Iron Man and Planet of the Apes.

It is also an iconic surf spot, rock climbing location, and beach! Point Dume is also great for relaxing on the sand and listening to the waves crash into the rocks or for some hiking.

You can hike the Point Dume Cove Trail, a 1.4-mile round-trip trail. It is a moderately challenging, popular route that is open year-round.

We found it to be a short hike as the views were breathtaking, and the weather was perfect in late April! The best part of our hike was seeing seals at the bottom. They were either swimming or sunbathing on the rocks - such a fantastic sight and experience!

Side Note: In Malibu, stop by Malibu Country Mart for your shopping and dining pleasures. We had an Açaí Bowl at John's Garden, and it was delicious - one of our favorite bowls to date!

Annenberg Community Beach House

Address: 415 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Santa Monica, CA 90402
Hours: Varies - Check their website for more details
Parking: Parking lot nearby with fees

Located on the Pacific Coast Highway, you will find the Annenberg Community Beach House. This Beach House has a splash pad, pool, playground, beach volleyball courts, soccer fields, courtyard, and beach access to Santa Monica State Beach.

The pool is open only during the summer - this year it is open from June 18 to September 4. Everything else is open year-round - check out their website for the hours of operation.

Moreover, this is a public beach house no reservations or memberships are required, so if you are visiting from out of state, you are welcome to enjoy it!

It was our first time seeing a place like that, and we hope that concept spreads around the country more. Moreover, the area is spacious, clean, and colorful. It is a great place to visit and quite inviting!

The Annenberg Community Beach House also hosts special events throughout the year. For instance, this summer they are having Cardboard Yacht Regatta, Sunset Swim, Sunset Picnic, and Seaside Storytime with Santa Monica Public Library.

They also have classes you can pay for like: yoga, semi-private swimming lessons, children's gym classes, youth beach volleyball, and floating fitness. You can find more information about all of these on their website.

Hart House (Permanently Closed)

Address: 8901 S Sepulveda Blvd, Westchester, CA 90045
Hours: 11 AM - 9 PM Daily
Parking: Shopping Center Parking lot - FREE

Hart House is a new plant-based fast food establishment in California. They offer Burg'rs, Chick'n, Salads, Sides, and Plant-Based Shakes.

The apostrophe in Burgers and Chickens denotes that they mimic burgers and chicken but instead are plant-based versions of the concepts. They also make their own organic sodas!

Hart House was founded by Kevin Hart, the comedian, and first opened its doors in August 2022. Their motto is "Passion for flavor, compassion for our planet."

Their mission is to make the food we know and love - better for us, our wallets, and the planet. Hart House promises no cholesterol, antibiotics, hormones, artificial colors, preservatives, high-fructose corn syrup, or trans fats in the food they prepare.

We stopped by to try it because we love Kevin Hart; however, we are not vegetarian or vegan. On our visit, we tried the Burg'r, Chick'n Nuggets, Fries, and Chocolate Shake.

I thought the Burg'r was okay, but I loved the fries! Matthew enjoyed the food more than I did, and he loved the chocolate shake.

However, we both agreed that the Chick'n Nuggets were not good, but it could have been because ours were overcooked and dried up. It was a unique experience for us, and recommend you try it at least once!

As Billy Mays would say: "But wait, there's more!"
