This vibrant destination perfectly blends natural beauty, water activities, and cultural experiences. Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been before on a cruise stop, this Cabo San Lucas Itinerary will help you make the most of your weekend getaway in Cabo San Lucas. Let's take a close look!
First Day: Exploring Cabo San Lucas
Best Way to Start Your Trip
Begin your adventure by landing at the Los Cabos International Airport, which offers direct flights from select airports. After arrival, head to your chosen boutique hotel or all-inclusive resort to drop off your bags, grab a refreshing drink, catch a breather, and enjoy some ocean views.

Best Places to Visit
Spend your first day exploring the heart of Cabo San Lucas and the iconic Cabo San Lucas Marina. These areas are a popular spot in Cabo and are home to many of the best restaurants and shops. Specifically, Plaza Puerto Paraiso and Plaza Bonita Mall are two centers containing many stores, including international brands and souvenir shops, a casino, and plenty of restaurants offering authentic Mexican cuisine, burgers, sushi, steak, and Italian! A fun and touristy place to visit is Cabo Wabo Cantina, a great place for live music, dancing, and Mexican cuisine. Moreover, this area has a vibrant nightlife scene at night - perfect for a fun first night out!
Best Things to Do
If you are looking for something more romantic to do in the evening, embark on a sunset cruise to witness the stunning Arch of Cabo San Lucas (El Arco), a majestic rock formation in the shape of an Arch, and enjoy a delicious meal at Las Rocas restaurant, boasting magnificent views of the coast as it sits right on the coastline. For a more "elevated" evening, check out Sunset Monalisa, about 20 minutes from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, serving delicious delicacies perched on a cliff!
Second Day: Enjoying the Beautiful Beaches
Best Way to Experience Natural Beauty
Take a boat tour to Land's End, where you can enjoy Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) - home to incredible rock formations. Lover's Beach is on the side of the Sea of Cortez and is known for its calm waters. It is a great spot for snorkeling and swimming. It is also a spectacular spot for spotting sea lions! These sea lions have made Lover's Beach their home due to its calm and warm waters. Do not worry - these sea lions are used to tourists, and you can even book a tour to swim, snorkel, and/or dive with them!
Moreover, on the other side is Divorce Beach (Playa del Divorcio), which is significantly bigger than Lovers Beach and a great relaxing spot for sunbathing. However, it is not safe for swimming. Land's End and its related beaches are only accessible by boat. You can take a boat ride from the Cabo San Lucas Marina to reach Land's End.
Best Places to Explore
Check out one or a few of Cabo's beautiful beaches! Head to Medano Beach for water activities like snorkeling, jet skiing, or paddleboarding. If you are visiting during the winter months, do not miss the opportunity to go whale watching and spot humpback whales in the Pacific Ocean. Another great beach to explore is Chileno Beach because of its clear, calm waters and golden shores. Close by is Santa Maria Beach, a horseshoe-shaped bay great for diving, snorkeling, and swimming!
If you decide to check out other beaches in Cabo, make sure it is one you can swim in before you enter the water. Not all of the beaches in Cabo are swimmable due to rip tides, steep drops, and an overabundance of dangerous marine life.
Best Things to Do
On top of swimming, snorkeling, and diving, you can also ride a Glass-Bottom Boat in Cabo and play golf. Cabo San Lucas is home to world-class golf courses with stunning ocean views. In early November 2023, a Professional Golf Association Tour will be hosted in Cabos San Lucas at the El Cardonal golf course!
Last Day: A Taste of Culture and Adventure
Best Way to Immerse in Culture
Take a day trip to San José del Cabo, known for its colonial architecture and art galleries. The charming town is just a short drive away from Cabo San Lucas.
Best Places to Explore
Wander through the historic streets of San José del Cabo, visit the organic farm at Flora Farms, and explore the vibrant arts scene. The Tourist Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo offers the perfect opportunity to take in the surrounding area's natural beauty. While visiting Flora Farms, grab a delicious and fresh bite to eat at Flora's Field Kitchen. It is a farm-to-table dining experience in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains! As you enjoy your fresh and authentic meal, you will see unique flora and fauna within the mountain range.
Best Things to Do
Visit Cabo Pulmo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit for its pristine coral reefs. Dive into the crystal-clear waters for scuba diving and witness the vibrant marine life, including sea turtles, tropical fish, and even whale sharks. It is about a 2-hour drive from Cabo San Lucas.
Time to Spare?
If you have more time to explore the State of Baja California Sur, check out the surrounding areas of La Paz and Todos Santos. La Paz has various beaches and hiking trails to explore and is about 2 hours and 15 mins North of Cabo San Lucas. Meanwhile, Todos Santos is a coastal town about an hour North of Cabo San Lucas. This area is perfect for surfers and those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere.
Time to Book that Flight!
Cabo San Lucas is a perfect place for a weekend escape, offering a wide range of great things to do for travelers of all interests. From the natural wonders of El Arco and Cabo Pulmo to the cultural richness of San Jose del Cabo, this destination has it all.
