Are you planning a Disneyland Paris vacation but also want to experience the heart of Paris, France for a day? Then this blog post is perfect for you!
Despite its name, Disneyland Paris is located in Coupvray, France, about an hour outside of Paris by car or public transport.
In this post, I will guide you through the best way to get to Paris from Disneyland Park, covering must-see attractions and offering practical tips for a smooth and enjoyable adventure.
Best Way to Travel from Disneyland Paris to the Eiffel Tower
The most efficient and economical way to travel from Disneyland Paris to the Eiffel Tower is by taking public transportation.
In particular, take the RER Train A from Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station, in the Disney Village, to the Charles de Gaulle - Etoile station in central Paris.
From there, transfer to the Metro Line 6 at the Nation metro station and exit the Bir-Hakeim station, a short walk from the Eiffel Tower.
This journey typically takes about 60-70 minutes, depending on transfer times. You can purchase tickets at the station's ticket machines or online in advance.
Your best option is to buy the Navigo Day Package for two zones to take these two forms of public transportation on the way there and the way back, and it will only cost you €8.65.
RER A Train
- Departure: Marne la Vallée Chessy
- Arrival: Charles de Gaulle - Étoile
- Journey Time: Approximately 45 minutes
Metro Line 6
- Departure: Nation
- Arrival: Bir Hakeim
- Journey Time: Approximately 5 minutes
- Distance to Eiffel Tower: Bir-Hakeim is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.
Private Transfer: Ride Share Apps and Taxi
You can book an Uber, Bolt, or FREENOW to get to the Eiffel Tower. Depending on the traffic, it will take about an hour or more to get there.
It is one of the more expensive options for getting to the Eiffel Tower at around €70 to €110. Moreover, you can also take a taxi - it will range from about €90 to €130.
I recommend taking public transportation because it will take about the same time to get to the Eiffel Tower, and it is the cheapest way.
Travel Tips for a Hassle-Free Journey
- RER A Train is a double-decker train, so you need to go up or down the stairs to find seats.
- Hold on to your train ticket as you will need it to exit the Charles de Gaulle - Étoile Station, and if you bought the day pass, you will need it for the rest of the day.
- When you get to Metro Line 6, sit on the left side of the metro car near a window to catch your first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower as you pass over the bridge.
- If you are staying at a hotel near Disneyland, specifically in Val D’Europe, hop on (and off) the RER A Train at the Val D’Europe station. There is no need to go to the Marne la Vallee Chessy station.
- On your way back, do the opposite of what is above. However, when you are ready to board the RER A Train, board the train going to Marne-La-Vallee Chessy (Parcs Disneyland), sometimes denoted by a Mickey head.
Comfortability and Safety Measures:
- Avoid traveling during peak times to minimize crowds and ensure a more comfortable journey.
- Be aware of current government restrictions or union issues that may affect public transportation schedules.
- Keep an eye on your belongings, especially in crowded areas like the metro platform and train stations.
