Top 12 Things to Do in Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada
Previously, when I thought about Canada, what came to mind were nice people with an accent, maple syrup, moose, donuts, and hockey.

Most of my knowledge of Canada came from Robin Scherbatsky from the show, How I Met your Mother – if you are a fan, yes, I did go to a mall in Canada and sing Robin Sparkles’ famous song!
However, from our visit to Canada, I learned there is more to it than just those few things, and sadly, I did not see a real moose.
This article will dive into the top 12 things you should do when visiting Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada. Keep in mind certain attractions are seasonal.
Toronto

To simplify it, Toronto is a small New York in Canada with its towering skyscrapers, busy streets, sports teams, and lots of food or entertainment on every corner.
They all make exploring Downtown Toronto a great place to spend your time. Here are some cool things you can do there.
Sporting Events
Various Locations

Within Toronto, you will find the home stadiums and arenas for the Toronto Blue Jays, the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Toronto FC. Keep in mind each sport has a different season, so they may not be playing when you visit.
However, some of these locations are also used for concerts or festivals, so be sure to check that out when you head over.
Toronto Railway Museum
Address: 255 Bremner Blvd, Toronto, ON M5V 3M9, Canada

Across the street from the Blue Jays’ Stadium and CN Tower is the Toronto Railway Museum. It is an indoor and outdoor museum about railroad history featuring vintage locomotives and an unconventional train ride.
Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
Address: 288 Bremner Blvd, Toronto, ON M5V 3L9, Canada

Next to CN Tower, you will find Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. It is home to Rainbow Reef, Dangerous Lagoon, and Ray Bay. Perfect spots to see colorful/patterned fish, sharks, and stingrays!
CN Tower
Address: 290 Bremner Blvd, Toronto, ON M5V 3L9, Canada

The CN Tower is a 1,815-foot tower created as a communications and observation tower by the Railway Company, Canadian National. It offers beautiful views of Downtown Toronto and the waterways that outline the city.
Niagara Falls

Approximately an hour and a half away from Toronto by car, you will find Niagara Falls.
This place is known for its breathtaking views of the famous Niagara Falls, but little did we know that this area is full of entertainment options from slow-paced to fast-paced and nature to thrill.
If I were to simplify this city, I would compare it to Orlando, Florida but with gorgeous waterfalls.
Clifton Hill
Address: 4960 Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, ON L2G 3N4, Canada

This area has a ton of attractions like Go-Karts, a Ferris Wheel, a huge arcade, bowling, and many other fun activities.
There are also many restaurants like Kelsey’s Restaurant, Tim Hortons, Benihana, etc. This place is ideal for a day of fun and food, and at night it lights up with bright and flashing lights!
Grand View Observation Deck to Horseshoe Falls
Address: Niagara Falls, ON, Canada to 6650 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6T2, Canada

Grand View Observation Deck is south of Clifton Hill, the northernmost portion of the Niagara Falls area, and Horseshoe Falls, the southernmost part of Niagara Falls.
These two spots and in between (Fallsview Trail) are great for admiring the Falls in all their glory!
During the summer, they have a firework and light show each night. Of the two, Horseshoe Falls is my favorite. It is next to Table Rock Welcome Centre, which has a food court, souvenir shop, attraction entrances, and a restaurant.
However, if you want to see all of Niagara Falls at once, visit Skylon Tower! It’s an observation tower with a revolving restaurant.
Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour
Address: 5920 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6X8, Canada

It is the only boat tour in Canada where you get to enter the water right below the Falls. It is a 20-minute voyage that takes you to the middle of Horseshoe Falls.
On your tour, you will feel the roar and power of the falling water crashing down below and will be given a poncho to protect you from the mist. They also offer sunset tours; however, this is a seasonal attraction.
Journey Behind the Falls
Address: 6650 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6T2, Canada

Located in Table Rock Centre, this attraction is year-round but less immersive in the winter. During the summer months, you explore below and behind the Falls (the lower observation deck is closed during winter).
You will get a poncho at this attraction as well (during the summer months) since the below part gets a lot of mist/rain from the crashing of the water.
WildPlay Niagara Falls Zipline to the Falls
Address: 5920 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6X8, Canada

This attraction allows you to zipline along Niagara Falls giving you an amazing panoramic view.
It is open year-round, day and night. If you enjoy rope courses, they also have Whirlpool Adventure Course near the next attraction we are going to talk about, but it is seasonal.
Whirlpool Aero Car
Address: 3850 Niagara River Pkwy, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 3E8, Canada

A drive away from the other Niagara Falls attractions, the Whirlpool Aero Car is a cable car that takes passengers over the Niagara Whirlpool.
The water below is a beautiful turquoise at the other end of the trip you will see Whirlpool Adventure Course, as mentioned above.
However, you will not stop there as the cable car comes back after it reaches the end. Whirlpool Aero Car is also a seasonal attraction.
Both Toronto and Niagara Falls
These next two places needed their own section and lucky for you they are found in both Toronto and Niagara Falls.
Tim Hortons
Various Locations

Tim Hortons is a coffeehouse and restaurant chain mostly found in Canada. They serve donuts, coffee, and other fast food items for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
It is the largest quick-service food chain in Canada, and rightfully so, as it is delicious and perfect for your breakfast run, lunch spot, or mid-day snack.
BeaverTails
Various Locations

If you are looking for an iconic Canadian dessert, go to BeaverTails! They sell fried dough pastries that are hand-stretched to look like a beaver’s tail.
They come as is or with various delicious toppings. My favorite was the strawberry cheesecake beaver tail, but the apple pie one was good too!
